Kathmandu is nestled in the Kathmandu Valley and surrounded by the majestic Himalayas. Rich in history, culture, and tradition, the city is home to seven UNESCO World Heritage sites. With over one million people, it serves as the political, cultural, and economic epicenter of Nepal. More than two millennia old, the city showcases Nepal’s rich and complex history.
Dhulikhel is about a 1.5-hour drive east of Kathmandu and is known for its rich cultural heritage, unique traditional architecture, and stunning views of the Himalayan mountain range – 8 out of 10 of the world’s tallest peaks can be visible on clear days. Dhulikhel was a stop on the ancient trade route connecting Nepal and Tibet and this history is evident when you explore the charming small town.
Pokhara is the second-largest city in Nepal and lies along the Annapurna mountain range, with serene Phewa Lake as its centerpiece. Known for its natural beauty and outdoor activities, Pokhara is a premier destination to experience nature and for walks and lake cruises. It is Nepal’s main hub for trekking routes, paragliding, white-water rafting, mountain biking, and a lot more.
Chitwan National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site and the country’s first national park. Chitwan is renowned for its diverse ecosystem that supports its exceptional wildlife, including the endangered one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tigers, sloth bears, gharial (a critically endangered crocodile species), and various species of deer and monkeys, as well as over 500 species of birds.
